Location University of Chicago

We are open to proposals that explore frontier computational methods to study dynamic equilibrium models under uncertainty. We encourage the study of heterogeneous agent models and applications that engage systematic uncertainty quantification from the perspective of either the researcher or decision makers inside the model. Examples of topics on the frontier are models where equilibrium requires the aggregate of potentially highly non-Iinear decisions rules, or models in which the agents' decision problems have a large dimension, or models where aggregate uncertainty has non-linear first-order impacts. We are open to submissions that explore systematically computational performance. We will provide funding support for up to $18,000 per project. Additional funds will be provided for an honorarium to support an autumn 2024 quarter visit. Our ambition is to collect essays into a volume to be published in the Journal of Political Economy Macroeconomics.
